Feb 04The technological advancement of camera lenses produces more choices for an Idaho wedding photographer every year. Lenses are available in focal lengths of 8mm up to 800mm. Selecting the appropriate lens, even for professional photographers, can be a daunting task.
In our studio, the two most popular lenses used are the 70-200 2.8 and a 50 1.8 (we prefer Nikon). Our 70-200 Nikon lens is our power horse. This lens is used for more than 60% of all the photos we take. It is the ideal lens for Catholic ceremonies and too blur out backgrounds. Our 50mm prime lens is used for all formal portraits. It is the sharpest lens in our camera bag. The results allow us to print in sizes up to 60×80 without any degradation. Another widely used lens in our camera gear is a 12-24 wide angle lens. This is our preferred choice for the party shots at receptions. Like any good professional, we carry backups of every lens we take on a shoot.
